Cittą Studi is actively involved in the research sector through the Services Division for Research and Development, which has the role of providing an interface between Research Institutes, institutions and companies who wish to develop research projects.
The main functions of Cittą Studi in the research area are:
- coordinator (of existing projects and future projects)
- obtaining useful contacts (research centres in Italy and Europe, their specific areas of activity, evaluation of a possible collaboration)
- assisting companies with various procedures
- scouting and planning research projects
- management of intellectual property (patentability evaluations,
presentation of patent applications and assistance in dealing with patents)
The services provided are intended to improve the contacts between companies and research institutes in order to supply, as much as possible, a useful and beneficial research study which are developed with all of the inputs set by the companies.
Cittą Studi has created the LATT Project (Advanced Textile Technology Laboratory)in collaboration with CNR ISMAC, ITIS Q. Sella, Polytechnic of Turin, Textile & Health Association and Edo Tempia Foundation.
The project, financed with a contribution by the Region of Piemonte, consists of a structured plan of action to strengthen already existing laboratories in the Biellese technological area, laboratories which have therefore acquired state-of-the-art equipment placing themselves in a position to offer an effective business support for local and national companies involved in innovation processes.
The facilities of the Advanced Textile Technology Laboratory (LATT) is currently used in the
HI-TEX Research Project, a project financed with a contribution by the Region of Piemonte and managed by the Temporary Aims Association founded by Cittą Studi, as well as, CNR ISMAC, ITIS Q. Sella, Polytechnic of Turin and Textile & Health Association.
The goal of the HITEX Project is to create an active collaboration between research centres and companies, so that the expertise and skills of research centres are used to obtain valuable results in a brief timing for the companies.
